Personal Background
I was born and raised in Gurnee, IL. I attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL, where I received a B.A. in history with teacher licensure and a minor in political science. During my time in college, I got involved in various community organizations both on and off campus. I worked with and served as a role model and mentor to freshman college students as a peer leader for a foundations course. This opportunity had a lasting impact on me and left me with strong classroom and leadership experiences.
Aside from teaching and history, I love: my family (especially my two nieces), music & collecting vinyl records, my corgi named Zander (named after Robin Zander from my favorite band - Cheap Trick!), the Chicago Cubs/Bears/Blackhawks, Marvel & Star Wars movies, and kindness.
I’m very excited to be part of the Maroa-Forsyth family and I’m looking forward to serving the school and community. Go Trojans!
