Season Sports Update for 2020-21

December 04, 2020

Stay up to date with the changing IHSA COVID seasons.

The IHSA has proposed a four-season calendar for the 2020-2021 school year. The dates and seasons listed may change at any time due to updated guidelines provided by the IHSA, ISBE, IDPH, and MFCUSD #2. All interested athletes need to be registered before the start date of all seasons including the off-season workouts. Athletic fees are due at the start of the official season. The following activities are currently allowed while we are on pause.

  • Groups of 10 (9 student-athletes and one coach) can hold an open gym outside. Only winter sports would be able to actively instruct, all out of season coaches must treat this as a normal open gym. Two groups of 10 can be on the football field at the same time as long as they stay on opposite ends. Groups of 10 may use the whole outdoor high school campus as long as they spread out. Student-athletes are allowed to use sport-specific equipment. Weather conditions will dictate if an open gym will be held.
  • Basketball Players Only- Coaches can hold one on one training sessions with a student-athlete on request by the student-athlete.
  • MASKS MUST BE WORN OVER THE MOUTH AND NOSE BY EVERYONE AND ALL SOCIAL DISTANCING MUST BE MAINTAINED.
