Scholarship offered in memory of Maroa-Forsyth teacher.
Attorney Josh Rohrscheib is pleased to offer the Mary Rohrscheib Teaching Scholarship in loving memory of his grandmother, who was a devoted third and fourth grade teacher in the Maroa-Forsyth School District. Mary received the Maroa Grade School Teacher of the Year award in 1974.
The scholarship is offered to celebrate great teachers in Central Illinois and to encourage our next generation of teachers. Each year, two students will be selected to each receive this $1,000 scholarship award.
Students applying will be asked to contribute an essay about a special teacher who has impacted their life, and to discuss what lessons learned from that teacher they will carry forward.
Mary passed away on April 22, 2020.
