The Central Illinois CEO Program has just wrapped up the 1st quarter of year 2 and have some great things to report! This year we have been faced with many obstacles due to COVID restrictions. The CICEO, comprises 6 students from the following schools: Warrensburg-Latham, Maroa-Forsyth, Clinton and Blue Ridge. The design of the program is for the students to meet daily with local businesses to experience a hands-on approach to the world of business. While we have had to meet virtually or in a hybrid fashion (some students virtually and some in person), we are happy to report that the students are learning and have had some amazing opportunities!
The students have met with over 20 business owners and community leaders since late August. They are building a great network and have many leads on future jobs or internships. In addition, the students have participated in team building activities, hosted an event of investors, and have visited or toured six businesses. They are working hard on their semester project, a group business and will be presenting the CEO Board with their business plan in early November. Follow along with their journey at www.centralillinoisceo.org or on their Facebook page Central IL CEO.
If you would like to get involved or want more information please email the CICEO Facilitator, Melanie Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org
We also invite current juniors or next year's juniors to join in on "Bring a Junior to Class Day" which we offer each month. It is a great way for a student to see what CEO is like first hand. Email Melanie Brown for more details.
