Trojans Nab Win Over Williamsville Despite Early 5-Run Inning

The MFHS softball team weathered a push by Williamsville in the second inning, but still won 10-7 on Tuesday.

Maroa-Forsyth Softball Varsity collected ten hits and Williamsville had 11 in the high-scoring affair.

Maroa-Forsyth Softball Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning when Jaden Corley homered on a 2-1 count, scoring four runs. Williamsville evened things up at five in the top of the second inning.

The Trojans took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Hallie Mitchell homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs and an error scored one run.

Braylee Finck took the win for Maroa-Forsyth Softball Varsity. She allowed 11 hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out two.

The Trojans launched three home runs on the day. Corley went deep in the first inning. Mitchell put one out in the third and fifth innings.

Maroa-Forsyth Softball Varsity racked up ten hits on the day. Mitchell and Finck all managed multiple hits while Mitchell went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the way
