2018-2019 Calendar Changes

March 22, 2019

To ensure our school year ends before Memorial Day weekend, we have amended this year's calendar.

Dear Maroa-Forsyth School District Families,

As you may recall, we missed 2 days of school back in January due to extreme weather conditions. We are required to make up those days. To ensure the best continuous learning experience for our students and end our school year before Memorial Day weekend, we have amended this year's calendar to:

  • Be in session for a full day of student attendance on Monday, April 22, 2019.
  • Be in session for a half-day of student attendance on Friday, May 24, 2019.

We recognize that some of our families might have made plans that they are unable to change. As a result, student absences will be excused for those days.

Please keep in mind, while rare, it is possible some weather event in April could cause us to call school off another day impacting this plan.

We did not want to wait any longer to inform all of the changes to our calendar to at least give everyone a month in advance notice to possibly help with adjusting to these new student attendance dates.

Please spread the word.

Thank you for your patience and understanding,

Dr. A
